Changelog

TuttiDAW ships improvements continuously. This page collects the changes you can see and hear, newest first. Smaller fixes ship in between.

October 30, 2026

  • Settings. New Display & Input and Theme & Colors pages, audio device options, and CPU and engine options in the desktop app.
  • Undo History. Jump back to any point in your edits. You can also drop one set into another and merge its tracks, groups and audio.
  • Push-style workflows. Fixed Length and Phrase Sync for recording, Note Repeat with Accent, Load Next / Previous, and Convert.
  • MIDI effects on what you play. Velocity, Random, Note Length and Note Echo now shape notes from your keyboard as you play, with activity LEDs on the devices.
  • Note Stretch. Stretch markers in the piano roll, repeated time selections and Swap Lane.
  • Racks. The Chain selector can be automated over time, chains can be soloed with S and hot-swapped, and Drum Rack chains, Impulse slots and device sidechains can be routed out on their own.
  • New Auto Pan with tremolo, spin and every waveform, plus a refreshed panel.
  • Sound. Drift voices behave like the original synth, so chords and stereo pads breathe the same way. Wavetable, Meld, Tension, Electric, Reverb and Hybrid Reverb (including Shimmer) all sound closer to the original instruments and effects.
  • Cleaner clip ends. Clips now stop with a short declick in every warp mode.

October 29, 2026

  • Second Window. Open the editor in two windows, swap the views with Tab and drag between them.
  • Step sequencer for any MIDI clip. Program drums and melodies step by step in the Clip View, with per-step parameter locks.
  • Info View. Hover help for the editor, plus your own info text on tracks, clips, devices, racks and macros.
  • Learn View inside the editor. Lessons, progress and video right next to your project (Ctrl+Alt+7).
  • Linked tracks. Link two or more tracks and edit their clips together.
  • New devices: Spectrum and Tuner. See the frequency content of any signal and tune instruments in the editor.
  • Sampler and Simpler. Zone and layer editing, the Sample tab, converting Sampler or Drum Sampler to Simpler, an expanded Simpler view, and slicing presets.
  • Instrument panels. Analog, Operator, Drum Sampler, Impulse, Wavetable and Electric gain the controls that were placeholders before.
  • Grooves. Grooves now match the original timing and velocity feel, and also work on warped audio clips (apply, Commit and Extract).
  • Fades. Clip fades and crossfades follow the original fade curve.
  • Bounce to Audio keeps the mixer moves of the clips you bounce.
  • Keyboard shortcuts. Alt-click a device chain, Delete resets a knob to its default, Alt+letter opens menus, and Ctrl+Alt+E expands the Clip View.
  • VST3 plug-ins in the desktop app, including VST3 devices in imported and exported .als projects.
  • File Manager gains a User Library view that finds missing and external samples.
  • Echo sounds closer to the original, with its saturating filter and reverb in the feedback loop.

October 28, 2026

  • MIDI Tools. The MIDI Tool panel with transformations (Arpeggiate, Connect, Ornament, Recombine, Strum, Time Warp and more) and generators (Rhythm, Seed, Shape, Stacks, Euclidean).
  • Recording. Record quantization, step recording, Capture MIDI with tempo detection, a metronome and new recording settings.
  • Bounce to Audio. Bounce a selection, a group or a whole track with its effects, and paste bounced audio.
  • Arrangement. Fade handles and crossfades on clips, object snapping, content slide, partial reverse, song start, tempo stretch, better zoom and Follow.
  • Clip View. Reworked panels, Sample Editor, launch settings and follow actions.
  • Piano roll. Find and Select, probability groups, copy and velocity drags, and note folding.
  • Comping. Take-lane keys, random take colors, click-to-fill and split-point drag.
  • Racks. Nested groups, zone editors, macro variations, moving chains, and extracting Drum Rack chains. In Session View, rack chains appear as their own mixer strips.
  • Mixer. Exclusive Arm and Solo, Solo in Place, crossfader assignment automation and track numbering.
  • Slice to New MIDI Track, plus the four Convert commands from audio to MIDI.
  • Separate Stems dialog with entry points across the editor, and the separated stems laid out ready to mix.
  • Defaults. Save your own default devices, tracks and clips, plus import commands. TuttiDAW projects can be used like Sets.
  • File Manager. Unused files go to a project trash you can restore from, kept for 30 days on Free and 180 days on paid plans.
  • MIDI remote. A MIDI ports table, remote feedback to controllers, control surfaces and MPE output.
  • Accessibility. Screen-reader labels, full keyboard navigation and editing, and a high-contrast mode.
  • Microtonal Tuning Explorer, a free tool to play, compare and export tuning systems.
  • Live set import. VST and AU plug-ins in imported .als projects are kept as placeholders and written back on export.

October 27, 2026

  • Project history. Preview your project at an earlier point in time and restore it. Save a version yourself at any time.
  • Tuning systems. Retune a project to other scales and temperaments, saved with the project.
  • Groove Pool with the full set of groove parameters.
  • Sync. MIDI Clock, timecode and Tempo Follower.
  • Export. Stems for all, selected or single tracks (including MIDI), with return and main effects, render as loop, and dither.
  • Video. Video clips, a Video Window, and audio plus video export.
  • Browser. Your own tags and Tag Editor, Quick Tags, custom labels, filters, history and content columns.
  • File Manager for referenced files, relinking missing files and finding unused ones.
  • Projects. Save a Copy, Template Sets and a Default Set.
  • Match. EQ Eight Match fits real EQ bands to a reference, Compressor Match fits the compressor to a reference vocal, and the new free Vocal Match EQ tool uses the same engine.
  • Devices. Limiter with Link, M/S, soft clip, true peak and Maximize; Saturator's Color section and curve editing; an automation LED and menu on every automatable control.
  • Instruments. New physical models for Collision, Electric and Meld, Wavetable per-oscillator unison, and an Auto Filter with the PRD, DFM and MS2 circuits.
  • Piano roll Draw Mode for notes and velocities, and Chase MIDI Notes (on by default).
  • Lower CPU use. Devices go to sleep when they're silent and wake up exactly on the next note.

October 26, 2026

  • The product is now called TuttiDAW in the app and on the site. The domain stays tuttidaw.com.
  • Bezier curves everywhere in automation, and the recording pass draws live.
  • Warped audio. Arrangement clips redraw as you edit warp markers, with crisp stretched waveforms.
  • FM-1. A new /fm1/play page lets you plug in an FM-1 and play a velocity-sensitive piano, and setup and restore are simpler.
  • Smaller screens. The top menu folds overflowing menus into a "…" menu.

October 25, 2026

  • Faster in Asia. TuttiDAW now runs from Singapore, and pages load faster thanks to precompressed assets.
  • Real-time collaboration moved to our own sync service; existing projects were migrated automatically. The iOS beta (0.2.2) syncs with it too.
  • Warp modes rebuilt to sound like the originals: Beats, Tones, Texture, Re-Pitch and Complex Pro.
  • Clip envelopes. Gain, Transposition and Sample Offset envelopes for audio clips, unlinked clip envelopes with their own loop, automation and modulation on the same parameter, and pitch bend and channel pressure envelopes for MIDI.
  • Automation. Insert Shape, transform handles, envelope-only cut and paste, breakpoint multi-select and keyboard editing.
  • Device A/B. Store two settings on any device and compare them.
  • Clip tempo. Leader and Follow, plus Unfollow Tempo Automation.
  • FM-1 as a controller. Play velocity and aftertouch from the FM-1, see its status in the Status Bar, and install RemoteFM1 from the editor. A new /fm1 hub explains the setup.
  • Status Bar reorganized into blocks, one per kind of status.

October 24, 2026

  • Learn: more styles and examples. Style lessons now cover 24 genres, from Blues, Classic Rock, Gospel and Afrobeats to Reggaeton, City Pop and Synthwave, with about 11 examples each that you can play in place.
  • Devices. Cut, copy and paste devices across tracks, drag devices onto other tracks, and paste or insert inside racks.
  • Piano roll. Live preview while editing velocities, and proportional velocity drags on several notes.
  • Clips. Extend looped clips to the left past their start, and resize a group of selected clips together.
  • FM-1 sequencer. Automation page, parameter locks, patterns as Session slots and song mode as scenes.
  • Effects. Echo, Phaser-Flanger, Resonators and Reverb sound closer to the originals.

October 23, 2026

  • SixOp, a new six-operator FM instrument that loads DX7 voices (.syx), and Ensemble's FM part can play DX7 voices too.
  • Tutti FM Essentials, our own 32-voice FM bank.
  • Per-note expression (MPE) in Ensemble and SixOp.
  • Generators. Plugin-generated clips in their own lane and Clip View column, in Session View too, with presets you can save.
  • Learn. Many examples per style lesson, a Jazz swing lesson, new lessons (UK Garage, Ambient, Boom Bap, Trap, Lo-fi Hip Hop) and a SixOp guide.
  • Mixer. Solo follows the same rules as track routing, and a group's Solo shows half-lit when one of its members is soloed.
  • Muse picks the right model for each turn automatically, so answers come faster and cost fewer points.
  • Desktop. Native MIDI input on macOS and Linux, and a MIDI Panic command.

October 22, 2026
