About TuttiDAW

Make music together. Keep your work portable.

TuttiDAW is a collaborative music workstation for the web and the desktop. Everyone works in the same project at the same time, with the instruments and effects you expect from a full DAW, plus Muse, an AI assistant that edits the project with you. We build tools for making music together, and for taking your work wherever it needs to go next.

Why TuttiDAW exists

TuttiDAW started with a familiar problem: recording a choir whose singers all live in different places. Everyone recorded at home, exported files and posted them into a chat group, and one person collected, renamed and mixed them. Nobody heard how their part sat in the mix until the whole loop finished, so every round of feedback took a week or more.

Tools that let several people record still kept separate versions that someone had to merge by hand. We wanted what shared documents already do for text and design: one live project, everyone in it at once, no files passed around and nothing to merge. The name comes from the score marking tutti: everyone plays.

Your work stays yours

Creative work outlives any single tool, so leaving has to be easy.

  • Open formats. Export mixes and per-track stems as WAV, AIFF, FLAC or MP3. Take projects to other music software as Ableton Live sets (.als) or DAWproject files, and notation as MusicXML. Live sets and DAWproject files can be imported, too.
  • Local projects. Keep projects on your own disk in the browser or in the desktop app; they don't need our servers, and they are unlimited on every plan.
  • Plans don't hold your work hostage. Changing or cancelling a plan doesn't delete your projects. Free includes one cloud project of your own and 2 GB of storage; projects above the limit keep working, you just can't create new cloud projects. If you go over your storage quota, new uploads pause and existing files stay. Your projects are removed only if you delete them or your account (see the privacy policy).

Different programs never map onto each other perfectly, so some details can change in a conversion. What we make sure of is that your audio, stems and project data can always come out.

Sound comes first

A music tool is only as good as what comes out of the speakers. We tune our instruments and effects against reference renders from Ableton Live 12, measuring the difference rather than trusting our ears alone, and we keep those measurements as regression tests so the sound stays where we put it. Automated tests, including end-to-end tests that drive the real app through recording, editing, collaboration and export, check our changes as we make them.

Built continuously since 2022

TuttiDAW has been in development since April 2022. Improvements ship continuously, usually several times a week, through releases designed to switch over without interrupting your session, so you get fixes as soon as they are ready instead of waiting for a yearly version. The changelog lists what changed and when.

TuttiDAW runs in current desktop versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari, as a desktop app for Windows, macOS and Linux with plugin support, and in six languages. An iOS app is in beta testing on TestFlight; Android is in development.

How the service runs

  • Hosting: Microsoft Azure (East Asia region), with nightly database backups and soft-delete protection for stored audio.
  • Payments: paid plans are sold through Paddle, our reseller and merchant of record, which handles checkout, invoices, tax and refunds. We never see your card.
  • AI: Muse uses Anthropic's Claude models for the requests you make. We don't use your audio or your Muse conversations to train AI models.
  • Privacy: what we collect and why is in the privacy policy; the rules for using TuttiDAW are in the terms.
  • Status: live and 90-day uptime for every part of TuttiDAW at status.tuttidaw.com, checked every minute from outside our own servers.

The company behind TuttiDAW

TuttiDAW is built and operated by WeaveJam (Suzhou Zhishimiaoyan Software Technology Co., Ltd.), an independent software company. TuttiDAW is our main product and we are in it for the long run.

For product questions, account or billing help, partnerships and press, write to contact@tuttidaw.com. Messages there are answered by people, not bots, and feedback from people making music with TuttiDAW shapes what we build next.
