Tighten a vocal, level a podcast or glue a mix with the Compressor from the TuttiDAW studio - five classic controls, processed entirely on your device.
100% in your browser - your files never leave your device.
That's the actual device from the TuttiDAW studio. Dial it in, then drop a file above - it opens right in the (free, no-signup) studio with this device on the track: listen live, keep tweaking, and export from there.
Any MP3, WAV, OGG, FLAC or M4A - a vocal take, a podcast episode, a drum bus. It decodes locally; nothing uploads.
Threshold and ratio decide how much gets caught, attack and release decide how it breathes, makeup gain brings the level back. It is the studio Compressor effect (Live-style peak model, log envelope).
Dropping the file opens it straight in the free TuttiDAW studio with the Compressor already on the track - listen in realtime while you adjust, then export a WAV in one click. No sign-up needed.
Compression evens out the distance between loud and quiet. A vocal that whispers one line and shouts the next sits steady in the mix after 3-4 dB of gain reduction; a podcast recorded at fluctuating distance from the mic becomes listenable at one volume; a drum bus gains punch when the transients are shaped by a slower attack.
Starting points: vocals and speech - threshold so the loud parts just tip in, ratio 3:1, attack ~5 ms, release ~120 ms; drums - ratio 4:1 with a 20-30 ms attack to let the hit through; whole mixes - gentle 2:1 with the threshold high. Then raise makeup gain until the processed preview matches the original loudness, and compare.
The processing is the actual Compressor device from the TuttiDAW editor (peak detection, logarithmic envelope), rendered offline through the same worklet engine - so the WAV you download is exactly what the studio would print, and your audio never leaves the browser.
Threshold is the level where compression starts; anything louder is reduced by the ratio (at 4:1, 4 dB over the threshold comes out as 1 dB over). Lower threshold or higher ratio = more compression.
Attack is how fast the compressor clamps down once the signal crosses the threshold - slow attack lets transients (drum hits, consonants) punch through. Release is how fast it lets go; too fast pumps, too slow smears.
Compression only turns the loud parts down. Use makeup gain to bring the overall level back up - the result is a track that is louder on average at the same peak level.
No. The file is processed inside the page by the same effect engine the TuttiDAW studio uses, and downloads as an uncompressed 16-bit WAV.
Not on this page - those need a full session. Open the free studio: the same Compressor there has sidechain routing, and Multiband Dynamics covers the rest.
Sidechain, multiband, limiting and 30+ more effects live in the full studio - free, in the same browser.
